The Intern of the Year Competition, hereinafter referred to as the "Competition", aims to promote the idea of professional development of the academic community and to select and award the Intern of the Year based on his/her commitment, creativity, and skills.
Participation Conditions
The Organizer of the Competition is Lazarski University.
The Competition is intended for 3rd and 5th year students of Lazarski University, hereinafter referred to as the "University" or "Organizer", who have completed or are currently completing student internships, hereinafter referred to as the "Participant".
In order to participate in the Competition, the student must fill out an application form available on the website at kariera.lazarski.pl/pl/praktykant-roku/, the link to which will be provided in the announcements about the Competition until a deadline determined by the Organizer. Failure to submit the application form will result in the inability to participate in the Competition.
Application forms will be accepted from May 26, 2024 to June 02, 2024.
Competition Rules
Participants are obliged to submit their competition entry by the end of the stage at the latest.
The competition entry must be submitted in the appropriate format and sent to the e-mail address: kariera@lazarski.edu.pl, as specified by the Competition Organizer.
Failure to submit the competition entry by the deadline at each stage will result in the inability to participate in further stages of the Competition.
Entries will be evaluated based on different criteria at each stage.
Each competition file must be properly signed, i.e. STAGE_NUMBER.ALBUM_NUMBER.
Competition entries must be prepared in Polish or English.
Evaluation of Entries
Entries will be evaluated by a competition jury consisting of:
Dean of the Faculty;
Program Director;
a designated person from the Internship and Careers Office.
Entries will be evaluated using a point system appropriate to the stage.
The jury's decisions are final and unappealable.
Progressing to the Next Stage
Candidates who receive the highest scores will qualify to participate in the next stage of the Competition.
Information about qualifying for the next stage will be sent to Participants by email to the address provided in the application form, along with guidelines on how to complete the next stage.
Stage I – Video and Qualifying Questions
Stage I of the Competition runs from May 26, 2024 to June 02, 2024.
A Participant may submit only one video file.
Video material:
cannot be longer than 3 minutes;
must be in Polish or English;
must contain answers to 3-4 qualifying questions from a pool of questions;
In evaluating the film, the Competition Committee will take into account the following criteria:
consistency of the film with the topic of the Competition;
creativity;
quality of answers;
general aesthetic impression;
usefulness of advice.
Stage II – Employer's Questionnaire
Stage II runs from June 10, 2024 to June 17, 2024.
The Participant is obliged to provide a questionnaire from the employer where they completed or are completing their internship.
The questionnaire must contain the employer's answers.
The questionnaire must be sent by the employer in PDF format to the email address: kariera@lazarski.edu.pl.
Stage III – CV and Cover Letter
Stage III of the Competition runs from June 26, 2024 to July 08, 2024.
Each finalist is obliged to prepare a fictitious CV and cover letter for an imaginary character, in accordance with the guidelines of the Competition Organizer.
The Participant is obliged to send the file in PDF format to the previously provided email address of the University.
The CV and cover letter must be submitted by the deadline and in the correct format, as specified in the competition guidelines.
Qualified Participants will receive specific guidelines by email to the address provided in the application form, together with feedback.
Awards
The winner of the Competition will be announced at the Student Graduation Ceremony.
The winner of the Competition will receive the title of "Intern of the Year" and a cash prize/material benefit, as determined by the Organizer.
Final Provisions
By entering the Competition, the Participant confirms that he/she has full copyright and related rights to the works and film materials submitted in connection with the Competition and that they do not infringe the rights of third parties.
The Organizer reserves the right to make decisions in disputed matters.
Participation in the Competition means acceptance of the provisions of these regulations.
The Organizer reserves the right to change the Regulations at any time without giving any reason, of which Participants will be informed by sending an email to the email address provided in the application form. Changes to the Regulations may not infringe upon the rights acquired by the Participants.
If you wish to withdraw from the Competition, you should send a withdrawal email to kariera@lazarski.edu.pl. Withdrawal in the case of the winner of the Competition results in the loss of the right to the awarded Prize.
Personal Data Protection
How we process the personal data of participants in the "Intern of the Year" competition
The administrator of your personal data is Lazarski University with its seat in Warsaw, at ul. Świeradowska 43, 02-662 Warsaw.
The Administrator has appointed a Data Protection Officer, who can be contacted at the following address: iod@lazarski.edu.pl.
Your personal data will be processed for the purpose of conducting the "Intern of the Year" Competition, accepting applications, selecting and announcing winners, awarding and receiving prizes on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f of the Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons in connection with the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation GDPR, OJ EU L. of 2016 No. 119), legally justified interest, which is the proper conduct of the Competition and care for the professional development of students of Lazarski University.
Your personal data may be processed for the purpose of fulfilling the legal obligations incumbent on the Administrator arising from tax law and related to the prize won in the Competition until the expiration of tax liabilities/obligations on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c GDPR.
Your personal data will be stored by the Administrator until the Competition is completed.
Personal data may be transferred to public bodies and offices or other entities authorized under the law. Personal data may be disclosed by us to entities that service the Administrator's IT systems and provide IT tools or postal, cloud or hosting services.
Your personal data will not be subject to automated decisions, including profiling.
You have the right to request access to your personal data from the Administrator, to rectify, erase or restrict their processing.
You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR at any time.
You have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority - the President of the Personal Data Protection Office.
Providing personal data is necessary for the implementation of the Competition. Failure to provide data will result in the inability to participate in the Competition.
Your personal data will not be transferred to a third country/international organization unless required by the Administrator's legal obligations.
